It is white to yellowish white hard solid, occasionally shiny crystalline solid, or white to yellowish white powder, odorless. In nature, myristic acid exists in vegetable oils such as cardamom oil, palm oil, and coconut oil in the form of glyceride. It is mainly used as a raw material for the production of surfactants, for the production of sorbitan fatty acid esters, glycerin fatty acid esters, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol fatty acid esters, etc., and can also be used for the production of isopropyl myristate.
